Calling All Dog Owners!

No, Circle K9 fans, the above statement is not an invitation to a train or boat ride.professional-obedience-training-classes copy

Actually “Calling All Dog Owners” is one of Circle K9’s commitments to our dog training clients, a commitment that sets us apart from other dog training professionals in the greater Houston, Texas area.

Did you know that after your dog’s professional obedience training classes have been completed, Circle K9’s experienced owners, who live on the property, are committed to giving you an unlimited number of complimentary phone calls to advise you further on your dog’s behavior modification progress?

Over the years, our professional obedience training classes have achieved proven results, with pet owners being very satisfied with their dog’s behavior modification progress.

But we noticed that our clients also wanted some follow-up advice, especially when they encountered new people, places and situations in which their dogs were expected to behave.

That’s why we implemented our unlimited phone consultation service for clients whose dogs have completed behavior modification training or are continuing training.

How does Circle K9’s unlimited phone call consultation service benefit our clients? Here are just a few ways.

1. Clients receive advice from trainers who already know their dogs.

Rather than seeking anecdotal advice from a friend or an anonymous source on the internet, pet owners benefit from receiving follow-up training advice directly from the trainers who know their pet’s specific strengths and weaknesses when it comes to behavior modification.

2. Clients can schedule phone consultations when it is convenient for them.

Circle K9’s dedicated owners who live on the property prioritize the scheduling requirements of our clients. Owners just let us know when it convenient for them to speak further with us about their dogs’ progress, and we accommodate their needs.

3. Clients benefit from further dog training know-how – completely complimentary!

Circle K9’s professional dog training programs have proven results, but there is always room for improvement after training ends, particularly for younger dogs. Most owners experience the benefits of their dogs’ continued improved performance as phone consultations continue.

Remember that our unlimited phone consultation service is not the only way to make sure your dog continues to make behavior modification improvements.

Circle K9’s dog training clients are always welcome to enroll their dog in more sessions of our professional obedience training programs, including our advanced obedience training courses.

Heavy Metal: Musical Maybe, Dog Boarding Not so Much!

Heavy Metal: Musical Maybe, Dog Boarding Not so Much!

When it comes to music, some dogs and their owners like to listen to heavy metal. But when it comes to dog boarding and training, Circle K9 can assure you heavy metal crates always leave a bad taste in clients’ mouths.

no-metal-dog-crates-while-boarding-at-circle-k9

Did you realize that in spite of the obvious benefits of kennel boarding over crate boarding, many dog boarding facilities in the Magnolia, Texas area have not responded to owners’ requests to board their dogs in actual kennels?

Instead, these dog boarding and training operations have opted to leave dogs in crates all day, only removing them to complete the obligatory canine behavior modification daily training sessions that owners have signed up for.

Some argue that heavy metal music has its merits in spite of its abrasive qualities. But there are absolutely no merits to metal dog boarding facilities and crates, which harm canines physically and emotionally.

What effects will being cooped up in metal crates have on your dog? Here are just a few:

1. Your dog will feel turbulent emotions, including sadness, loneliness and frustration at being locked up for the majority of the day and night.

2. Your dog’s body will be restricted, leading to the possibility of muscle atrophy, not to mention cuts, scrapes, and self-harm.

3. Your dog’s exposure to sunshine and fresh air will be severely restricted, thus limiting her access to nutrients essential to her physical and emotional health.

Remember that at Circle K9, we prioritize your dog’s physical and emotional well-being with our clean, climate-controlled indoor facility and our 5-acre wooded area designed for play. Sadly, not all dog boarding facilities in the area can say that.

But it’s not just a sub-par dog boarding experience that is to be had at metal crate dog boarding facilities in Magnolia, Texas; Cypress, Texas, Montgomery, Texas; Houston, Texas; and The Woodlands, Texas. These operations also offer sub-par behavior modification training.

Heavy metal music fans aren’t known for good behavior. And neither are dogs that have been trained at dog boarding operations housed in metal facilities.

Think about it – if a dog boarding “professional” is willing to house your dog in a metal crate for upwards of three weeks or more, what quality of behavior modification training would you expect to receive?

In contrast to those operations, Circle K9 offers professional obedience training for dogs of all ages, including advanced obedience training and Schutzhund.

At Circle K9, you won’t find any elusive, rock-star types – our owners, who live on the property, prioritize your dog’s continued behavior modification by providing unlimited phone consultations after your training has ended.

Be aware that some other Houston-area dog boarding facilities are dishonest about being “in-home” dog boarding facilities and spacious for your dog. We suggest researching a facility and making sure it offers all of the qualities you expect. You should be able to tour the ENTIRE facility so you can see every aspect of what your dog will be subjected to during their stay. If you don’t, the consequences can be severe, including permanent damage to your dog’s wellbeing. We encourage tours at Circle K9, call us anytime to set one up: 281.259.3564

Circle K9 offers dedicated owners who live on the property, offering professional obedience training with proven results.

Circle K9 welcomes all interested dogs and owners to visit our beautiful facility near The Woodlands, Texas to observe our operations for themselves.

16-Week-Old Cavalier King Charles to Serve as Therapy Dog at Montgomery, Texas School

Many elementary school-aged kids dream of having adventurous careers as astronauts, athletes or even cowboys. Though the latter are harder to come by these days, the lucky students at Montgomery, Texas’ Madeley Ranch Elementary School recently got to meet a real Cowboy.

…Or at least a King Charles Cavalier dog named Cowboy!

On May 21, experienced and dedicated dog trainers David Ketterer and Kim Sullivan introduced the children to the school’s new therapy dog, a 16-week-old Cavalier King Charles known as “Cowboy.”

Like the students, Cowboy has spent the last month dedicated to learning, mastering canine therapy skills so that he can best serve the students at Montgomery, Texas’ Madeley Ranch Elementary. Though he is still shaky on reading and arithmetic, Cowboy is rock-solid on essential canine behavioral skills including socialization, sit & stay, down & stay, heeling, recall and a post.

The month-long training process has been a lot of hard work but has also proven to be a lot of fun for the energetic Cavalier King Charles, whose breed is known for its eagerness, affection and an outgoing personality.

But Cowboy isn’t the only one who had fun during training. “I have the funnest job in the world!” says superstar dog trainer and Circle K9 owner David Ketterer.

During his presentation to the students, Ketterer explained that dog trainer is just one of the career options available to animal lovers like himself. He introduced the students to some of the other possibilities, including careers as veterinarians, pet store owners, and dog equipment sellers, among others.

There are more and more vocations emerging for dogs, too. As Ketterer explained to the children, dogs can be trained in police K9 skills, narcotics detection, scent detection, various sports, therapy skills, and deaf assistance skills -- all in addition to serving as loyal and loving pets.

Said Ketterer to the children, “Dogs can help the disabled, dogs can smell sickness and detect seizures, and dogs can help you learn better.”

And helping students learn better is just what Cowboy has been trained to do at Madeley Ranch Elementary School in Montgomery, Texas. Trained as a therapy dog, Cowboy will spend his days providing comfort, calmness and serenity to special needs students.

“We are very proud of Cowboy and know he is going to do a great job in his new career,” said David.therapy-dog-training-circle-k9-magnolia-texas

Does Size Really Matter? It Does When it Comes to Dog Boarding, Says Circle K9
Friday, 17 May 2013
Training News & Tips

Here at Circle K9, we love all dogs equally! We believe that every dog should have it’s own room to move about when in their kennel and lots of free space to run and exercise all day long in our country-like boarding facility.

country-like-boarding-facility-magnolia-texas-circle-k91

We also have a preference for the size and quality of our establishment.

Did you know that compared to our competitors, Circle K9’s full-kennel dog boarding is a less crowded, more intimate business that has been family owned and operated since the start?

Unlike other dog boarding facilities in Cypress, Texas, The Woodlands, Texas; Montgomery, Texas; Spring, Texas; Magnolia, Texas; and elsewhere in the Houston area, Circle K9’s owners live on the premise, have full size kennels (not crates) and 5 acres of grassy outdoor area to exercise and play in (not a concrete pad).

What are the benefits of Circle K9 being smaller capacity and family owned? Here are the top three:

1. Your dog will never be lost in the fray and never subjected to crowded boarding conditions thanks to our personally limited amount of only 20 climate controlled kennels.

2. Your dog will receive one on one attention thanks to our family of canine experts who are personally dedicated to each pet.

3. Your dog will never be the victim of us promoting business over his well-being, thanks to our superior boarding philosophy.

But don’t think that just because Circle K9 is slightly smaller than urban dog boarding facilities in the Houston, Texas area that our accommodations aren’t up to par.

In fact, Circle K9’s boarding dogs experience the best of both worlds at our facility in Magnolia, Texas. Our canines receive lots of attention while avoiding the overcrowding that comes with more volume-driven urban dog boarding kennels.

Circle K9’s full-kennel dog boarding service consists of an outstanding indoor space and a 5-acre outdoor play area with much freedom for your dog to roam.

When you choose to board your dog at Circle K9, we promise that he or she will receive clean, healthy accommodations each day and night. All of our boarding dogs are provided access to their own bowl of clean drinking water daily. Our dogs also enjoy each night’s sleep on comfortable and safe Kuranda beds in a fully climate-controlled indoor facility.

Though urban dog boarding centers boast large-sized facilities and a convenient location, what does that really mean for your dog? Most likely, it means that he will be subjected to the stress that comes with many dogs being cramped in one tight space, small crates and less exercise time.

Circle K9 couldn’t be more proud of our smaller, more intimate full-kennel dog boarding options and our family-owned and operated status, both qualities that distinguish us from our competitors in the Houston, Texas area.

Remember – we truly love dogs and treat all of them like family when they board with us. Wouldn’t you and your pet prefer to join the warm, extended family of Circle K9 than become just another name to a crowded urban dog boarding facility?

Don’t just take our word for it – come visit Circle K9 to see the difference for yourself. Read our testimonials online and facebook! Schedule your appointment today to meet our dedicated family of canine experts and to experience the coziness of our facility near The Woodlands, Texas. http://www.circlek9.com/web/dog-boarding-houston-texas.html

But remember – the secret is out about Circle K9’s superiority, and boarding spots fill up fast! Make sure you reserve a spot for your special canine sooner rather than later:
